The test card looks wonderful! I love the colours, graphics and font. I know this is only a test card, but you might consider putting a border around the edge to make it look even more like a tarot card. Saying that, I'm sure there are tarot cards that don't have borders around them, so you should be free to follow your own creative vision. Whatever you do, I'm sure the final version of your tarot cards will be FANTASTIC if the test card is anything to go by! :-D

Thank you so much for this test card.

I think it is wonderful. I LOVE that you have him as a child carrying his bundle (from the traditional pack) as he sets forth on his journey.

I like the sad-jester-images that attend him as an adult too; and that touch of grimness about his adult appearance (when - as we know - he had the role of 'Fool' rather thrust upon him by various parties).

You've achieved a lovely fusion between the Tarot card (both images and meanings) with Guy and his story as revealed by Kip Carpenter.

I think you have 'hit the road running' with this project; and I'm very excited to see what else you have in store!

Huzzah! and ((((hugs)))

Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] grondfic! I am so glad that you think the test card is wonderful. I was a little worried about how it would turn out, because I don't really know much about the tarot yet and I haven't tried to make cards yet. I think I just have to find a way that suits me. Probably rely on intuition as well. Take the name of the card and imagine something from RoS under it. View card processing of different packages from various artists.
And find out the information and meanings of the cards. Find the right images. And start creating. And of course, in case of questions and uncertainties consult with you.

The Fool card. What came to my mind from RoS - sure, Gisburne. Also Robin - as King's fool.
Very few people would probably call the adult Gisburne a symbol of innocence. But he, too, used to be an innocent child who set out on a journey and became a page, squire, knight ...

And you captured what I'm talking about - combining tarot cards with stories from RoS.

Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] rusty_armour! I am glad that you love the colours, graphics and font.

Yes, I have considered the border. But as you know, my laptop is fooling me. And it started fooling around just before the test card was completed, it thwarted card completion, and I had to start all over again.
So I didn't bother with the border later.
